New homepage
Wow! This is my first time blogging, and I am filled with trepidation! What this will come to is anyone’s guess, but I just want to get the ball rolling by saying I’m thrilled with my wonderful new homepage and website, www.jamiejackson.com, which was designed and created by my very talented wife, SoHee. If you become a regular visitor to this blog, you’ll be hearing a lot about my short, Korean wife, who just happens to be the love of my life, and who also happens to be a brilliant composer. In coming posts, I’ll let you know how our new musical based on an Australian legend, is coming along – we’re planning to do a reading of this new piece in late 2010 – stay tuned!
My most recent big news, however, is that I’ve been cast in the upcoming off-Broadway production of The 39 Steps. We start rehearsals in NYC on March 1st, and open in mid-April. I’ll post about rehearsals and performances in the coming months. Before all that, however, we’re going to be getting out of town for a few days next week on a cruise to Mexico!!! Yay! It’s only for a few days, but considering the bitter winter we’ve been having in New York, it will feel like a year or two on a foreign planet.
Thanks for reading, and best of everything to you!
Jamie

Hello Mr Jackson.
Greetings from a long lost Australian Musician/Composer. You probably dont remember me so i’ll just say the words ‘Merry Xmas Pauline Hanson’ Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!….. (smile). Yes i was the guitarist/drummer/fool in that production. Anywayyyy. I bumped into Amanda Bishop (or little Mandy Bishop as she was known then) & we had a great stroll down Avenue de la Memoir. I wrote the music in a TV series that starred Lea Van den Burg of all people! They’re everywhere these MXPH’s (Merry Xmas Pauline etc). That Reg chap who thought (in vane) that he could play drums in said production only went off & wrote Last train to Freeo. A very big hit indeed so more fool me. Last i saw of you, young chap, you were in the delightful Erotica Show at the Belvoir(?) I remember that frightfully entertaining lady that played songs with her vagina (no less).
And then you called me once and asked if i would like to ‘recollaborate’ with you & of course like a complete Philipine i pretended i was too busy. Well Seinfeld ‘was’ on the Telly at the time.
So now its what..? Fifteen years later?!! I’m 41 now.. ouch and for 10 years i’ve been writing & producing promos for a lovely little foxtel channel. The best bit is i write the music for the channel. I say ‘music’ but jingles & stings is probably closer to the mark.
Still its really fun after all these years & it feeds my wife & two kids.
I often wondered in a sliding doors sort of way what would’ve happened if i’d had simply said ‘yes’ to you all those years ago.
I mean to say, ‘New York’!!! Awesome. I’ve been three times for work and adore it.
I love New York in June (How about youuuuu?)
Im so so happy for you, J, ya big spunk.
Keep flyin’ the flag & kickin’ arse, big boy.
Luv GJT
